Dubai Run 2025: Metro timings, road closures and Salik updates explained
RTA extends Metro hours for this Sunday
DUBAI – Dubai is gearing up for the seventh edition of Dubai Run 2025, the city’s flagship fitness event attracting thousands of participants.
To ensure smooth travel and safety, the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has announced extended metro timings and a comprehensive traffic plan for Sunday, November 23.
RTA is advising residents and visitors to plan journeys in advance, follow suggested alternative routes, and consider public transport options to avoid delays. Salik tolls have also been revised for the day to manage traffic effectively.
Early Metro access
Metro services will begin at 3:00am and continue until midnight on race day. Participants heading to the start line are encouraged to use World Trade Centre Metro Station, which provides the most direct access.
Runners are reminded to ensure their nol cards have sufficient credit for the journey: Dh15 for Silver Class and Dh30 for Gold Class for a round trip. This ensures smooth boarding and avoids last-minute delays.
Key road closures
To secure the race route, several major roads will be closed from 3:00am to 10:00am. Key closures include:
- Sheikh Zayed Road: Trade Centre Roundabout to Al Hadiq Road bridge
- Lower Financial Centre Street: Between Sheikh Zayed Road and Al Khail Road
- One-way sections of Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Boulevard and Al Sukook Street
- Parking areas along Sheikh Zayed Road
RTA recommends alternative routes such as Upper Financial Centre Street, Zabeel Palace Road, Al Wasl Road, and Al Khail Road to help drivers navigate around closures.
Salik toll updates
Salik tolls will follow temporary timings and rates to ease congestion:
- Peak hours: 6:00am–10:00am: Dh6; 4:00pm–8:00pm: Dh4
- Low-peak hours: 10:00am–4:00pm: Dh4; 8:00pm–1:00am: Dh4
- Off-peak hours: 1:00am–6:00am: Free
Drivers are advised to check rates and plan trips accordingly to minimise delays, particularly during morning closures and peak traffic times.
Dubai Run 2025
Dubai Run 2025 will see residents and visitors of all ages jogging across a specially-cordoned stretch of Sheikh Zayed Road. As part of the Dubai Fitness Challenge, the event turns the city’s main thoroughfare into a safe and engaging running track. Normal traffic flow is expected to resume after 10:00am.
Participants and residents alike are encouraged to plan ahead, use public transport, and follow RTA guidance for a smooth and enjoyable race-day experience.
